PRODUCT STORY :
For a long time, the Dukuh Village has undergone an economic struggle and as for the women [Ibu], the need for additional income shifts to be predominant to sustain their livelihood. The story of ‘Saeutik Bunga Sisal’ was born out of the heart to empower the village Ibus with the skill of artisanship. Fostered by Ibu Chandra, the founder of Sekar Kawung, the group of Ibus make use of the sisal plant as the primary resource for their craft.
Dyeing the sisal fiber with the surrounding nature from Mahogany leaves [Daun Mahoni] - reddish brown hues, Clitoria [Kembang Telang] - blue and grey hues, Cosmos [Bunga Kenikir] - yellow hues and Hibiscus Flower [Bunga Rosella] - pink and beige hues.
‘Saeutik’ means a little, a little amount of this flower can have a special meaning for the Ibus in Dukuh Village. A small touch of wrapping the sisal flower in our gift card becomes an invitation to share this story and create a gift with a message of hope.
